Trip itinerary

Day 1: Hue arrival (B)

Driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in

Hue Free time for remainder of the day and over night in Hue

Hue is the home of several wonderfully interesting world heritage listed sites and the area has a lot to offer visitors. Hue is the ancient capital of Vietnam and although many historical sites were damaged in the recent war with America it is still a fascinating place.

Day 2: Hue City tour (B/L)

09:00: Your day of discovering the wonders of Hue will begin with meeting your English speaking guide when he arrives to meet you at the Hotel.

As part of your Hue city tour you will visit the impressive complex of the Imperial Citadel. Built in the 19th Century and surrounded by high stone walls and moat, the Citadel was once the exclusive home of the Nguyen Imperial Family. It is similar to Chinas’ Forbidden City and is not to be missed. You will also take a cruise on the famous Perfume River and visit Bao Dai and Tu Duc tombs.

Day 3: Road Transfer to Hoi An Via Hai Van Pass – Marble Mountain (B/L)

09:00: Pick up by private car and depart from Orchid Hotel at 0900h for transfer to Hoi An. Travel via Hai Van pass and visiting Marble Mountain en-route.

The scenery from the top of Hai Van pass is spectacular and offers some great photo opportunities out over the bay and down to the fishing village of Lang Co.

Marble Mountain actually consists of a group of 5 separate mountains known as the Element Mountains named Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth.

Thuy Son or Water Mountain is the largest and most beautiful of the mountains and several large Buddhist temples have been built into the caves and grottoes. Recently two new elevators have been constructed that make it only a short trip to the most popular area on the mountain.

Day 4: Hoi An Ancient Town – My Son (B/L)

08:00: Your English speaking guide will meet you at your hotel and take you on a two hour walking tour of Hoi An Old Town. Famous for its quant mixture of Chinese, Japanese and European architecture, the old town was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999. You will visit, the Japanese bridge built in the 16th century and famous for being the only covered bridge known to incorporate a Buddhist pagoda, the 200 year old Tan Ky house, museum of trade ceramics and several other historical sites.

Lunches in town

After lunches we will start from your hotel and travel 50km from Hoi An to My Son holyland in a private air conditioned vehicle with your English speaking guide. My Son was a major religious site for the people of the ancient Champa Kingdom which flourished between the 4th and 13th centuries The Champa people ruled Central Vietnam until it was finally annexed by the Vietnamese in the 19th Century.

The Champa King lived in the political capital of Tra Kieu (whose commercial capital was the port of Hoi An) and so the My Son complex became the most important temples of the Champa Kingdom. Bricks were used to build the temples without the aid of mortar and sculptures of gods, priests, animals, and scenes of mythical battles adorned the walls. The temples were places of worship to the Hindu God Vishnu.

My Son was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.

After exploring the ruins and history of My Son and viewing a short traditional Champa Peoples music concert, you will start your journey back to Hoi An arriving at approximately 1230h.

The afternoon is yours to relax or try on the new clothes you have had made.

16:00: back to your hotel

Day 5: Hoi An – Cooking Class – Dinner Cruise (B/L/ D)

08:00: Driver will meet you at your hotel and take you to your Vietnamese cooking class at a well known venue in Hoi An. After you have practiced your new skills, you will get to enjoy what you have cooked for your lunch.

Enjoy the rest of the day to yourself to self sitting around the pool, walking along the beach or catch the hotel shuttle bus into town to check on your new clothes.

12:00 – 18:00: Please refer to your confirmation slip to arrange your 60 min Spa appointment.

18:45: Transport will arrive at your hotel to transfer you to your 90 minute evening dinner cruise on the Thu Bon River. Your cruise boat has an  on board kitchen and bar and you can sit back and enjoy views of the old town while enjoying a set menu of local delights.

Day 6: Hoi An – Departure (B)

Free time in the morning to relax or to do some last minute shopping until the driver will pick you up from your hotel to the airport

Children policy:

  1. 1 child under 3 accompanied by two full paying adults stays free of charge OR 1 child 3-6 years old accompanied by two adults pays 50% of the deal price directly to the tour group upon booking.
  2. Additional children aged 0 to 6 years old welcome but are required to pay 75% of deal price. (eg. Family with 1 child aged 2 & 1 child aged 5, need to pay 75% of deal price for the 5 year old)
  3. Children 7 and above pay normal deal price.

Additional Information:

  1. All persons traveling alone will be required to pay the single supplement.
  2. Vietnam Travel maybe required to change the itinerary due to annual flooding or other unforeseeable circumstances and all extra costs to be paid by the customer.
  3. Please check with your family doctor for medical advice before commencing the journey.
  4. Meals for customers with special dietary needs can be arranged but notice is required at time of booking.
